    2. I think I was around your age when I got into Stephen King. Be warned – he will creep you out. But the stories are amazing. I still laugh about the time I was about halfway through Pet Semetary I had to put the book down and just stand beside my mom while she made dinner.

    3. Hi! I’m 15F as well. I like fantacy, mystery, and most af all, Romance. For a Fantacy, mystery & romance novel I suggest The Remarried Empress. It is available as a book but probably in no libraries, but it is available for free on an app or on Webtoon if you like comics.

    5. I highly recommend the [Spin trilogy](https://www.goodreads.com/series/52279-spin) by Robert Charles Wilson as a good introduction to sci-fi.
For a horror/post apocalypse ride give a shot to the [Metro trilogy](https://www.goodreads.com/series/101081-metro) by Dmitry Glukhovsky.
For something that’s a bit more bizarre there’s [Perdido Street Station](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10362658-perdido-street-station) by China Mieville which is a dark science fantasy book.

If you like historical fiction I can wholeheartedly recommend you [The Butchering Art](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33931044-the-butchering-art) by Lindsey Fitzharris which is non-fiction but written in the style of a novel which makes it extremely engaging.

If you’re interested in classic sci-fi/body-horror, [The Island of Dr Moreau](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29981.The_Island_of_Dr_Moreau) by H.G. Wells might be something you should definitely check out.

There’s also some great classic sci-fi / noir in Isaac Asimov’s Robot series, I particularly recommend [The Caves of Steel](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41811.The_Caves_of_Steel) and [The Naked Sun](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30016.The_Naked_Sun).

      Tad Williams Otherland series.

If you’re on social media you can get great recommendations by following some bookish accounts e.g. on booktok or bookstagram, or goodreads. Once you have a clearer idea of what you like you can easily find similar recommendations!

    9. Check out some of Neil Gaiman’s books. I would recommend Stardust, Neverwhere, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Coraline, The Graveyard Book, and maybe Norse Mythology. Coraline and The Graveyard Book are geared towards younger audiences, but I read them in my late twenties and still thoroughly enjoyed them.

Here are some mysteries I enjoyed:

      Saturday Night Ghost Club

      Daisy Darker

      The Dry

      The Chalk Man

      In the Woods

      The Lake House

      We Were Liars

      Shoot the Moon

      Paper Ghosts

    15. I’m trying to revive The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende. Some magical realism and a decent read. Eva Luna is another one of hers that stands out in my memory.

    16. Beth Cato – Blood of Earth trilogy. Excellent fantasy with a touch of romance.

Becky Chambers – Wayfarers series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but they’re all set in the same universe.

Sarah Beth Durst – Race the Sands. Fantasy. Starts a little slow, but once you get into it, it’s a fascinating world.

Jonathan Stroud – Lockwood & Co. series. Magic, horror, and a bit of mystery. It is YA, but there’s no cheesy romance or love triangles forced into it. I’m a grown-ass woman, and I didn’t want to put the lights out after I finished the 3rd book!

    17. I would recommend:

      * Murderbot books by Martha Wells
      * Life of Pi by Yann Martel
      * The Harp in the South trilogy by Ruth Park

      * What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher
      * The Secret History by Donna Tartt
      * The Perveen Mistry books by Sujata Massey
      * The Shardlake books by CJ Sansom
