I absolutely loved the Autobiography Of Red (and the sequel). I am looking for similar titles with similar themes of growing up, finding oneself, navigating feelings of love, loneliness, hope, etc. (they don’t have to be limited to retellings of myths). I prefer books with gay protagonists. Thanks for your recommendations!

‘Long Walk to Freedom’ by Nelson Mandela is a powerful autobiography that I often recommend. Mandela’s journey from political prisoner to president embodies the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, making it an essential read for anyone interested in the fight for justice and equality.
Have you read The Beauty of The Husband by Anne Carson (sorry if that is the sequel you mention) also I’d recommend Gods of Tango and also Joel Lane and Pajtim Statovci (I quite liked Bolla by this author)
