Did Henri Charriere ever return to the Guarijo tribe, specifically Lali and Zoraima and his children? I’m asking with reference to Henri Charriere’s book ”Papillon”. It would be incredibly sad if he did not return to Lali and Zoraima as promised, not to mention not meeting his children (assuming their births went well). I know he later married a Venezuelan woman and settled in Venezuela so a ’happily ever after’ with Lali and Zoraima is probably out of the question but considering his residence in Venezuela, it wouldn’t be far fetched to hope that Henri visited Lali and Zoraima as he promised he would. Does anyone know anything about this?
