    Hey, I want to go back into reading again, but most books that are recommended to me are very boring. I’ve read Ubik by Philip K. Dick and I really liked it but when I tried to search for books just as creative, none really caught my attention. So I’d like some recommendations of books that give out vibes close to:

    * Ubik by Philip K. Dick
    * Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
    * House (1977) by Nobuhiko Obayashi
    * Tetsuo The Iron Man (1989) by Shinya Tsukamoto

    The book can be from any genre but horror, fantasy, and sci-fi are preferred. What it really matters is if the book is crazy, nuts, bonkers, zany, wild…

      I haven’t read it but people often cite Perfume by Suskind to be the wildest thing they’ve ever read.

      “The indifferent stars above” is a non fiction book about the Donner Party. Extremely well written and bonkers

    2. The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins is fucking wild. I never knew wtf was going on until the end.

      John Dies at the End by Jason Pargin is honestly so weird I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s the same with his other series Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits.

      My Pretties by Jeff Strand has some wild ass plot twists. You wouldn’t think so from the cover or synopsis but the book is so funny.

      *Bunny* by Mona Awad. I didn’t like it personally, but it definitely fits what you’re looking for.

      Earthlings by Sayaka Murata fits this bill. One of my absolute favorites. Short, creative, horrifying, heartbreaking, amazing, perfection.

    6. Juan Rulfo, *Pedro Páramo*.

      Flann O’Brien, *At Swim-Two-Birds* and *The Third Policeman*.
