Please, help a girl out. I recently got into the thriller genre and I am on an eternal quest to find a thriller that will blow my mind. Everything I’ve read so far has been lackluster. I have no triggers.

    My recent reads:
The Coworker- dumb twists that I saw coming from a mile away

The Silent Patient- I was bored most of the book and I didn’t like the ending

The Chain- the premise seemed interesting but then it lost me

Pretty Girls- I didn’t mind the torture aspect but the characters were missing brain cells

    1. Peter Swanson is a modern master! I like all his books but his first two, _The Girl With a Clock for a Heart_ and _The Kind Worth Killing_ are both great starting points.

For some classic thrillers, Patricia Highsmith’s _The Talented Mr Ripley_ and _Strangers on a Train_ are famous for good reason

For the dawn of psychological thrillers, go for Margaret Millar’s _Beast in View_ but if you go for that try to avoid all spoilers / description / intros

      Chester Himes’ _Run Man Run_

For the international thriller, some more modern examples are Olen Steinhauer’s _Tourist_ trilogy and the books of Chris Pavone.
