Idk why but every time I pick up a book from the middle east, I immediately feel this connection and almost surreal immersion in it. I’ve read 3 of Khaled Hosseini’s books and the setting and aura of the book just make it so memorable (best book I’ve read in my life is Kite Runner).
Can someone please recommend middle eastern books to me (I kinda wanna be like a middle eastern book expert now so maybe give a list and order to follow?)
ps: i read arabian nights when i was in 5th grade and i kinda wanna read it again but idk which is the normal unabridged version so can someone help w that too?
thank you!!

A short while ago, I [posted a request here for sci fi in a Middle Eastern setting](https://www.reddit.com/r/suggestmeabook/comments/17h3ins/sci_fi_in_a_middle_eastern_or_islamic_setting/). I don’t know if you are willing to consider science fiction, but there’s a lot of good recommendations there.
