Lesser known memoirs or biographies as a gift for someone who loves reading about women such as Jane Austen
My friend loves historical women. Particularly writers. She loves TRUE stories. Last year she asked for the book An Elusive Woman by Lucy Worsley if that gives you an idea.
Please help as I am clueless on this topic of books.
*Geisha, A Life* by Mineko Iwasaki is a really good memoir about one of the most prolific & successful Geiko of the 20th century.
*Stranger in a Shogun’s City* by Amy Stanley is a recounting of a woman’s life who was born in rural northern Japan and moved to Edo (Tokyo) in the mid-1800s, compiled from surviving family documents.

*The Girl With Seven Names* by Hyeonseo Lee
*Unfinished* by Priyanka Chopra Jonas
(not really historical, but great biographies by women)
