I’m a wannabe author writing casual sci-fi. Reading is the best way to improving, and I’d like to branch out. I’d like to understand my favorite genre better. Below is a list of books I’ve read and lump together as casual, lightweight, fun sci-fi (mostly). I’d love more recommendations outside the mainstream selection. Happy conclusive endings most preferred.
A fun list for your enjoyment:
* Old Man’s War – John Scalzi
* Fuzzy Nation – John Scalzi (and pretty much ALL of John Scalzi’s work)
* We are Legion (We are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor
* Roadkill by Dennis E. Taylor
* Columbus Day by Craig Alanson (and most of the sequels)
* The Martian by Andy Weir
* Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
* Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
* Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
* All Systems Red by Martha Wells (and most sequels)
* The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
* Hard Luck Hank by Steven Campbell
* Infinite by Jeremy Robinson
