I’ve been listening to audiobooks at work and in the car. I have been on a really science fiction kick. I am currently on Stranger in a Strange Land and just finished the Illustrated Man. What are some other classic science fiction authors or books I should check out? I just have the image the future with rockets and videophones.

I second HG Wells, and have a soft spot for Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles— it’s a wonderful read that also tells you a huge amount about Bradbury’s own culture and time.
What about throwing in some classic sci-fi that’s not by white American guys? (Nothing wrong with it, not saying there is, just that I’ve enjoyed reading outside that.) Ursula Le Guin pushed the boat out by exploring gender (Left Hand of Darkness) and colonialism (The Word for World is Forest). Eastern Europe produced some of my favorite science fiction books, including Roadside Picnic and Solaris.
