My boyfriend(24) wants to get back into reading but the only book he can recall that he ever liked was books like Hatchet by Gary Paulson. This feels like a silly request but is their any adult level books that are similar??
Small Game by Blair Braverman came out a year ago and I thought it was pretty good. The storytelling is just okay but the survival aspect is great. The author is primarily a wilderness survival teacher, not an author, so the survival information is where she shines.
Edit: if he is interested in Sci Fi, then The Martian by Andy Weir would be perfect. Basically it is Hatchet, except Brian is a super smart astronaut who is stranded on Mars, not a 12 year old in Canada.
