I love worlds that have no connection to our own.
The Lord of the Rings has Middle-earth.
Claymore has an undetermined world.
Eragon has its world with Alagaësia and Alalëa.
Throne of Glass has Erilea and others.
May you please tell me any stories you know of that don’t take place in our world? I’ve been really itching for it.

Discworld, but be warned; you might get stuck there a while.
Wheel of Time
Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams
The Apprentice Adept series by Peirs Anthony
The genre is high fantasy, it’s very popular.
I recently enjoyed *Godkiller* by Hannah Kaner. There’s also The Nevernight Chronicles by Jay Kristoff and *The Priory of the Orange Tree* by Samantha Shannon.
If you like podcasts, you should try Worlds Beyond Number. It’s free to listen to, and the worldbuilding is amazing.
*Anathem* by Neal Stephenson. Worth your time.
The Broken Earth (trilogy), by NK Jemisin
Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earthsea Cycle
Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials
FWIW, Wikipedia has a whole list of imaginary fictional countries.
The High House
The Worm Ouroborus
The Ladies of Mandrygin
Magic Casement
Silverlock

Not to mention all the sci-fi stuff out there like
Hyperion by Dan Simons. It takes place in other earth-like planets because the earth has been destroyed, and humans had to flee.
Otherworldly fiction:
* *The Hobbit*, Tolkien
* *The Chronicles of Narnia*, Lewis
* *The Ransom Trilogy*, Lewis (his sci-fi series)
The Chronicles of Narnia
Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson takes place on a bizarre planet called Roshar dominated by aggressive storms and strange plants and animals (and civilizations) that evolved to survive the storms
He has other series and standalones that take place on different planets in the same solar system. Some learn to travel from their planet to others. It’s all part of the Cosmere.
Really well done and you could spend a pretty hefty chunk of time in that universe if you really enjoy a time commitment like I do
T kingfisher
The clockwork boys & the wonder engine
Swordheart
The paladin series
They are all set in the same world, I love the White Rat!
Hunger games
Dr. Strange and Mr. Norell. England, at the time of the Napoleonic wars, but magic is real, and there are fairies, not the nice kind.
Dune.
