Books on the Black Death, Spanish Flu, or disease in general
Can anyone recommend a book on the topics listed in the title?
I’ve become fascinated by historical accounts and interpretations of world-altering events.
Defeating the ministers of death by Prof David Isaacs might fit what you want. It’s a look at the history of vaccinations and the toll of outbreaks like Spanish flu, smallpox etc. My description doesn’t do it justice, it’s really well written and super interesting.

[The Hot Zone by Richard Preston](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16213.The_Hot_Zone?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=CAZkR7UJBA&rank=1) is a book about the ebola breakouts in the 60’s (?). It’s been nearly 20 years since I last read it but it was hard to put down because there was so much death just around the corner
The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer by Siddhartha Mukherjee. A surprisingly fast read.
