I read Contagion by Teri Terry a few years ago and the concept of the virus with its impact on society and the amount of deaths was really interesting to me, but I was put off by the fantasy aspect of it, so I’m looking for some books with a similar vibe but without the literal magic, just exploring a mid pandemic world that wipes out such a large part of the population. Preferably not that close to the Covid pandemic, since that’s less the dark and gritty thing I’m looking for; and I’m looking to stray from our reality a bit.
