I need to read 5 more books by the end of this month to reach my 2023 goal of 50 books! I did read 2 books last week so I know I can do it, but I’m feeling tired at this point in the year and nothing I’ve added to my wish list is jumping out at me right now.

I love memoirs, and I’m a visual artist and a graphic designer, but ironically I never read memoirs by artists and designers. I would love to change that and am seeking suggestions!

Bonus points if you know the audio book is good. I listen to a lot of audio books.

Would consider other books that aren’t specifically memoirs if you feel you have a good rec.

Open to all kinds of art and design, but personally my top areas of interest are: photography, printmaking, fiber arts, ceramics, graphic design, fashion design.

    1. ‘Long Walk to Freedom’ by Nelson Mandela is a powerful autobiography that I often recommend. Mandela’s journey from political prisoner to president embodies the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, making it an essential read for anyone interested in the fight for justice and equality.
