    Hello beautiful people,
currently reading Robert E Howard’s Sowers of the Thunder, and I’m looking for more Historical fiction in this vein, light on accuracy and context, heavy on action and adventure, around the 200-300 page mark ideally, the older the better and on paperback.
any help is much appreciated, thanks.

**Nigel Trantor** (1909-2000) took Scottish history and filled in the blanks to bring them to life. He was probably the most prolific Scottish author after Sir Walter Scott. He published over 100 historical novels and many non-fiction books such as The Queen’s Scotland series.

I found him when I was serving in Scotland in the mid 90s.

      *Rob Roy Macgregor*

      *The Wallace*

    2. The Evil Friendship by Vin Packer, aka Marijane Meaker, one of the inventors of Lesbian Pulp, who was also actually a lesbian. The book is based on a famous murder by teen girl lovers in New Zealand who murdered one of their mothers. It was made into the movie Heavenly Creatures starring Kate Winslet and Melanie Lynskey in their first primary film roles. One of the murder girls grew up to be a prominent mystery thriller writers hiding her identity until late in life and dying recently.
