I’m looking for nonfiction books about tragic events and experiences. Not BASED on true stories, just 100% factual true stories. I’m ADHD so it has to be continually engrossing in order to keep my attention. Cults that ended badly/religious trauma, other stories of abuse, public tragic events, kidnapping, etc. I’ve already some of the well-known ones; I want to read the ones not everyone knows about. My morbid curiosity needs to be satisfied & I don’t think the “best books” lists online are fairly rated/critiqued.

    1. The jealousy man, by jo nesbø It’s a book of short stories so once you get sick of them they end

The Family Next Door by John Glatt. The story was covered a lot in the news, but basically parents isolated their children from the world while living in plain sight in affluent neighborhoods. I have ADHD, too, and I enjoyed this book. Well, as much as one can “enjoy” something like that.
