Been going through a bit of a depressive slump lately that’s left me with no motivation to study. I need a character to emulate or a book that glorifies the grindset so I can push through the last few weeks of the semester. Basically looking for a Hermione Granger archetype or something that’s gonna make studying feel fun.
Some books in this vein that I’ve enjoyed:
My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante
A Separate Peace by Jonathan Knowles
The first half of The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang (only really thinking of the training montage which was fun in a trashy/guilty pleasure way but anything else by R.F. Kuang I’ve found too cringey to enjoy.)

Books that I have not enjoyed:
Vita Nostra
The Queen’s Gambit (this was fine, I just thought the TV show was much better.)

The Secret History maybe? It’s a satire, but the first few chapters go HARD on glamorizing academia and the cool intellectual students.
