Suggest me a book with an unapologetic toxic male character protagonist or central character (except American Psycho or Clockwork Orange).
Hi all. Please suggest me a book where the central character, could be the protagonist or the antagonist, who is unabashedly a toxic male with little to no redeeming value.
Things fall apart by Chinua Achebe. The description starts like this: A simple story of a “strong man” whose life is dominated by fear and anger”. Okonkwo is an interesting protagonist, yeah he’s violent and misogynistic and still I pitied him by the end.

Disgrace by JM Coetzee was an incredible read with some challenging subject material. The protagonist definitely fits your description.

The end of Alice. Almost tries to turn it on the reader and it’s super weird
