Just a random question passing in my head. In France we study Molière in school and it’s association the italian style of Comedia Dell’Arte plays.
But, that’s because we’re French and European, obviously. It’s like british kids reading Shakespeare. For people who grew up in other cultures, have you guys ever even heard of this ?

I am reminded of Molière, and Feydeau, when I watch the American sitcom Frasier.
My summer camp for gifted kids put on a musical adaptation of *The Doctor In Spite of Himself* (I was Martine!) and we had a section on commedia dell’arte in my high school senior year AP English.
This was in Louisiana, USA; which, while definitely not known for its education, does have some shining spots.
