I can’t really describe what i mean, but i’d like for the book to talk about what it’s like when you long for a mother figure and the effects of that. I don’t know if that’s a well enough known phenomenon for there to be a book about it.

I’m not a psychologist but I do have a psychology degree (from many years ago!) and I don’t think the phenomenon of longing for a loving mother figure is at all uncommon but I think the effects of abuse can be so varied that it will almost certainly vary on a case by case basis. I’m sure there are books available that discuss this topic from a psychological perspective but you might also want to consider biographies of survivors of childhood abuse.
With that in mind, although it may not fit your request exactly, in you might find Sybil by Flora Rheta Schreiber an interesting read. It doesn’t explicitly state that the protagonist longed for a loving mother figure but it certainly provides an excellent insight into the effects an abusive mother can have.
