    According to her, she’s read all of bridgeton but thought it was kinda boring.

    She just bought a book called persuasion that she said had been on her list for while, but knowing her she might finish it in two days lol.

    She says she likes stuff like pride and prejudice but i have no clue what to search for when it comes to those genres.

    Help a dude out.

      Do you mean [Persuasion by Jane Austen](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2156.Persuasion)?

      If she found Bridgerton dull but is keen to read a classic by Jane Austen, she’s presumably quite an advanced reader. In which case, she’ll probably like some other classics.

      Here are some ideas:

      * [Wuthering Heights](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6185.Wuthering_Heights?ref=nav_sb_ss_1_6) by Emily Brontë
      * [Sylvia’s Lovers](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/830205.Sylvia_s_Lovers?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=uYcIWrnqAv&rank=1) by Elizabeth Gaskell
      * [Pride and Prejudice](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1885.Pride_and_Prejudice?ref=nav_sb_ss_1_15) by Jane Austen
      * [Emma](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6969.Emma?ref=nav_sb_ss_1_4) by Jane Austen
      * [Far From The Madding Crowd](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/31463.Far_From_the_Madding_Crowd?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=wsOZpMjTF9&rank=1) by Thomas Hardy

      The first one is the best. But they are all good.

      *The Tenant of Wildfell Hall* or *Agnes Grey* by Anne Bronte

      *Villette* by Charlotte Bronte

      The Duke Undone and The Runaway Duchess by Joanna Lowell

      I typically cannot stand romance novels but these two were captivating and very well written. I also didn’t like the Bridgerton books, but I loved these!

      Sort of a leap, but Mark Twain was writing books in the US at the same time that Jane Austen (Persuasion author) was writing books in the UK. Perhaps A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn?

    5. These might be fun choices-

      The Lady’s Guide to Celestial Mechanics by Olivia Waite

      The Duke who Didn’t by Courtney Milan

    6. There are some really good suggestions on this list; let me also suggest *North and South* by Elizabeth Haskell, which I would describe as like *Pride and Prejudice* plot-wise, but set in Industrial England rather than Rural England.
