Just finished watching David Fincher’s ‘The Killer’ on Netflix and, while I enjoyed it, it didn’t completely cure my international assassin cravings.
Please suggest me a book about assassins or hitmen. I’m looking for something in the real world rather than fantasy/sci fi so please don’t bring those.
Also I’d prefer the criminal rather than espionage end of the spectrum but there’s some leeway there.
Thanks in advance you beautiful people.

Day of the Jackal is kind of the ur-text of the genre
French writer Jean-Patrick Manchette has that same kind of pseudo-philosophical approach to what is largely *noir* material about assassins. Try *The Prone Gunman* or *Fatale* to start.
It’s based on a graphic novel!
Billy Summers by Stephen King
Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter
The intern’s handbook by Shane kuhn
The John Rain series by Barry Eisler
American psycho
The Grey Man books by Mark Greaney, I believe the books are better than the movie.
Guilty by David Baladacci
Three Assasins – Kotaro Isaka
The Day of the Jackal. It’s 50 Years old and still slaps.
