So I started and finished the silent patient by Alex Michaelides last night suffice to say I have some questions….

1. What did everyone make of Alicia stabbing Elif in the eye after Elif said Theo was in Love with Alicia? I honestly couldn’t make heads or tails of that part of the book once I finished. Also we never learn the meaning of this painting.
2. Was Theo’s affection to Alicia self serving? For me it had to of been because once he realised she knew, he made an attempt on her life.
3. Did Jean-Felix know that Gabriel had been cheating? I thought not otherwise would he not have used that to further his own gain? But he did warn Alicia.
4. What the actual ever-loving – was that ending? Are we to assume Alicia died and Theo goes to prison? Considering most people refused to merit her claims about being stalked, there’s a decent chance he gets away with it. Also a chance she woke up. I personally felt a bit jaded by the ending after staying up all night to finish it lol. It felt cut short by a chapter or two.
Overall I found the book to be a real page turner and really enjoyed the read. For me it was something a bit different. It was also quite an emotive experience I even found myself getting anxious reading Alicia’s false account of events. 4/5⭐️
