I’ve read 16 books this year, and I’m reading 2 at the moment. I’m so far behind schedule because I lost a very important person in my life a month ago, but I started reading again. I need some quick reads. An example of a short novel that I love would be The Ocean at the End of the Lane from Gaiman.
I love fantasy a lot (Cosmere, KKC, Riyria, etc.). I kinda want to read something sci-fi because I will have read 16 fantasy novels out of 18 books (counting 2 horrors as fantasy for the sake of example). I’m not looking for just any books for the sake of reading, but hopefully, there are some nice fast-paced books that will help me meet my goal.
I enjoy mysteries and horrors, too. I have read most of King, most of Sanderson, all from Rothfuss, first series from Riyria, first Murderbot book – I loved the character, but I didn’treally vibe with the setting and story, but zi guess it was more of a setup for the soap opera loving murderbot. I remember I read Dark Matter by Blake Crouch in no time, but I haven’t tried his other books – maybe too long for December.
Not really looking for slow burners that will pay off after 500+ pages. Just give me anything that’s like up to 300ish pages and page turner, but again, sci-fi is more than welcomed right now
