{{A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L. Peck}}. Man goes to hell, has to (basically) read his way out. Horror, but more psychological.
{{The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz}}. Short cozy romance between an outdated AI robot and a robot tech. Sapphic/Ace

I’m reading Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London books and finding them to be quick reads. They’re very funny as well.
Middle grade novels are also good places to start if you are wanting something lighter as well. Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan is set during WWII, and it seems to be quite a hopeful book from what I’ve read so far.
