Hi all! A few years ago I got the book 1491 as a recommendation from this subreddit as a gift for my mom. She absolutely loved it, so this year I am back again. Still on history, but the subjects of interest now are:
\- History of the India/Pakistan partitioning
\- 20th/21st century history of China
\- anything particularly well written that gives context for current events in the middle east
