Anyone seen this movie by Joachim Trier?
I’m looking for books with a similar vibe. Someone feeling lost in their life / struggling with it all. The protagonist is not in any danger, she’s living a comfortable life, but is unsatisfied. She’s making decisions hoping it’ll take her closer to the life she wants to live but it doesn’t seem to be happening.
It feels like a movie with a lot of longing. Longing for somewhere that isn’t here. For a life that isn’t this.
I’d prefer something that leaves you feeling more positive / hopeful though. Eg. I’ve heard the *Bell Jar* is also about a young woman feeling lost, but that’s a decidedly more negative vibe. *Severance* by Ling Ma was similar, but the protagonist was more numb about everything happening around her (she was also going through a COVID-style zombie apocalypse so her listlessness was not quite top priority).
Recs greatly appreciated x

Have you read Needle in a haystack by casey jordan? Interesting read about a woman who goes through a lot of trials, but continues to push forward through it all to try to give her kids a better life.
Can’t think of anything to recommend but good idea to avoid the bell jar if you’re looking for something more positive!
