i am looking for some books to get my little sister (20) for christmas. she has gotten into reading over the past year, and i think it’s great because she never really read a lot when we were kids. i’m looking for some good fiction books to get for her. i’m more of a fantasy reader myself, which she doesn’t like, so i’m a bit lost in picking out something for her. she’s been reading things like colleen hoover, but i’d like to get her something with a bit more substance and better written. probably something written on the recent side (i don’t think she’d want to read jane eyre for example). thanks in advance!!

Honestly, if she’s just beginning to get into it, I would get her stuff that you know she already likes. It’s too early to try to educate her into selecting “better” material.
Tell me her interests and courses of study, if any, and I can recommend. Does she like history, philosophy, science or the environment?
If she’s an athlete at that level, maybe an biography of someone she admires in her (or any) sport? Biographies are abundant-there’s definitely one out there for an athlete she admires.
