hi friends! looking for some book recs for my very picky mother haha
shes open to most genres but not horror and nothing super thrilling or too suspenseful, lighter reads! she really loves liane moriarty for her well fleshed out characters and multiple povs that converge. she likes when there are multiple stories that are interwoven and the different characters interact. she loves fantasy and some sci fi but nothing too technical or complex. anything on the fun side with humour would be great too but not necessary! can take or leave romance.
other authors and books she loved:
neil gaiman
leigh bardugo – especially six of crows
dean koontz
lessons in chemistry
poison study
lord of the rings
any suggestions welcome!! she loves audiobooks so if there are any really outstanding audiobooks that dont necessarily fit the request by all means drop them too! thanks in advance!!

I love Liane Moriarty. I would suggest Celeste Ng based on that. Either Little Fires Everywhere or Everything I Never Told You. Our Missing Hearts is also good but a little outside her norm and I would say the other two are better introductions to her work.
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, especially as an audiobook, is fantastic. The audiobook is a full cast which is pretty rare and it makes a huge difference.
Out of the Earth series by Jake Bible. 4 books: Out of the Earth, Out of the Sky, Out of the Fire, & Out of the Stars
Giant monsters emerge from the earth and start the end of the world as we know it. A higher intelligence has other plans though and humanity is forced to make dire choices in order to survive, if that’s even possible?!
This series follows a variety of people, in different locations and positions of power across the country, as they all struggle through the chaos and destruction in a desperate attempt at survival. Lots of cussing throughout the books… but given the circumstances the characters are in, I’d cuss a lot too🤷♂️
