Hi all,
I recently learned about the US’ advocacy/coercion effort via international aid during the creation of Israel in 1948 at the UN to swing votes in favor of Israel, which I found really interesting since we don’t often hear about the UN’s history as a classic legislative body like you would about the US Congress.
I was wondering if there was any good historical/political review of the early years of the UN/durring its founding? I’ve seen it touched on in books about FDR/the wider post war era, but never a book really dedicated to how the UN’s charter and set up was formed and the political dynamic amongst delegates in the early years.
Bonus points if it’s on audible 🙂
Thanks!
