Please I’d like book suggestions that give the same energy as Hozier’s Work Song.
What the title says. Honest hardworking regular guy only going on because of the love he has for the S/O.
LGBTQ+ books welcome too. Need to believe in this kind of love right now for a little bit.
Not a book, but Hadestown is a pretty amazing musical thats a retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth and might hit some of the same notes. Otherwise, Cyrano de Bergerac? Or, if you’re ok with more of a dedication to family, The Grapes of Wrath?
If you’re looking for HEA these are probably not. the best options.

Hmm, have you read any Lois McMaster Bujold? I feel like Aral and Cordelia Vorkosigan might be a nice read if that’s how you’re feeling. Shards of Honor is a really lovely science fiction novel with a romance where both sides are dedicated to continuing with work because of their love for each other. It’s less one sided / unhealthy than a lot of the fictional depictions of self sacrificing love can be.
