Reading Albert Camus for the first time. Thought I’ll begin with his earlies work. “A Happy Death” was published only posthumously. So, I don’t know if it is because of that. I found the book to be weird. The first section “Natural Death” was nice. But the second section “Conscious Death” felt weird. What is the house above the world? Who are the three “students” he refers to? Who is the boy living there. Seemed to me like that part was kind of surrealist. Is it how absurdist books are.

The first section was realistic. The characters and events felt real. But then, the second section felt like a David Lynch movie. Could understand only half of what Camus was driving at.

Help me understand it better. Any and all help is appreciated.
