I just bought a signed limited edition (one of 1,000) copies of Kafka on the Shore. Do you think it is a good investment and would cost more in the future? Very Good: A book that does not look new and has been read but is in excellent condition. No obvious damage to the cover, with the dust jacket (if applicable) included for hard covers. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, and no underlining/highlighting of text or writing in the margins. May be very minimal identifying marks on the inside cover. Very minimal wear and tear.

Kafka on the Shore is one of Murakami’s most popular titles.
Considering it’s a signed copy and you’ve already purchased it, I’d recommend get it shrink wrapped and keep it somewhere.
Forget that you made this purchase.
Give it a decade or so, and you will definitely fetch a premium on this investment.
The rule of compounding applies here. The more time you keep this book for without tarnishing the quality, the better your asking price will get.
Perspective: I’ve kept my hardcover edition of Steve Jobs biography in tact, and plan to bring it out for resale a few decades from now.
If I get a good price, super. If not, I paid 10 dollars a few years ago and that’s that.
