I’ve really enjoyed some novels in verse like Clap When You Land and The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo, and Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson. I love the combination of poetic language with a full length plot and character development.
Most novels in verse seem to be YA, which is fine, I have a good list to work through, but I’d like to also find some novels in verse that are aimed more at adults – happy to consider any genre or subject matter. Does anyone have any recommendations?

*The Autobiography of Red* by Anne Carson
Split Tooth by Tanya Tagaq, but it’s not just poetry, it’s a combination of poetry, mythology, and fiction as it tells the story of a young Inuit girl growing up in a far north community. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking.
Have you looked at any of the older epic poems/translations, or modern versions, like John Gardner’s Jason and Medea (that’s an epic subject but original poem)?
The Sign of the Dragon by Mary Soon Lee is excellent.
