hello! I’ve been reading piranesi by Susanna Clarke recently, I usually have quite a heavy taste in books and I’ve found the way this character has such a love of life / happiness so refreshing although I haven’t finished it yet. I would like a strange or interesting story if possible, but I will take any suggestions! I am specifically looking for characters who are happy, but not stupid. bonus points if they’re a little anxious but staying positive, like piranesi

I think Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir is, strangely, similar to that vibe! I can’t tell you anything without spoiling it, but the main character is just so upbeat and motivated despite waking up with amnesia in a weird situation and it’s just a delight to read.
