Last year I implemented the family tradition of giving books on Christmas Eve. I got my husband a Jack Reacher book (he ended up checking out several more from the library over the year), my toddler a WWE book (my husband is a fan), and me Patti Smith’s “a book of days”.
This year I’m thinking of getting my husband “Patriot Games” (he’s never read a Jack Ryan book), my toddler another WWE book (now he’s a fan haha), my newborn a Sandra Boyton book, but I’m stuck on what to get for me. I have trouble spending money on myself and I check out an obscene amount of books/audiobooks from the library. If I’m going to own it I want it to be a book that is special somehow- will be re-read or given to a friend, has photos or something to see in physical form, requires writing/journaling/reflection, etc.
Please let me know your suggestions! I read lots of memoirs (mostly audiobooks), spiritual books (was thinking of getting thich nhat hahn’s “how to love”), non-fiction books (mostly business/self help adjacent- “Red Notice”, books by CEOs, books on yoga). I was thinking a nice coffee table book would work but we’re going to move soon hopefully so I don’t want something clunky (I liked Bibliostyle from the library). Or I probably need “how to talk so little kids will listen”, but I was thinking I could get a summary of that online.

Ask for It is a great book on negotiation for women, one that I revisit pretty regularly and has some journaling/reflection questions that I’ve found to be really helpful.
Bad Blood is a nonfiction book that has been passed around my friend group extensively, and everyone has loved it.
