    Hey reddit,

I picked up reading a couple of months ago after a loooong break. In those last months, I fell in love with reading fantasy novels. I started with The Camelot Saga by Wolfgang Hohlbein and continued with Eragon. The last series I finished was The Wheel of Time. I loved all of those, especially The Wheel of Time and Eragon for their hefty lengths. Can you recommend other books that lean in this direction and have a similar length?

    Thanks 🙂

The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher is great urban fantasy and up to 17 books now + short stories.

Most of Brandon Sanderson’s books (the guy who finished Wheel of Time after Robert Jordan died) are at least loosely linked so could be called a long series.

Discworld by Terry Pratchett is great. There are a lot of subseries so if you’re going to read them pull up a thread about where to start.

The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik is Napoleonic Wars but with dragons and lots of fun.

If that isn’t enough to keep you busy for a year or two let me know and I’ll give you some more.

    2. The Xanth series by Piers Anthony. There are a lot of them and they’re really fun to read. A Spell for Chameleon is the first one.
