Really good books where a mom dies suddenly/unexpectedly?
Death can happen off the page/before the book starts or during but should be talked about/ important to the story. Can be fiction or nonfiction, though memoir might be best!
A Prayer For Owen Meany, John Irving. One of my top 10 books.

The Name of the Wind
both parents die early on and it’s absolutely important to the story. What a great book too

I’m giving you a movie that’s based on a book but I forgot the name of the book. The movie is The Hunt For The Wilderpeople and they all have NZ accents and its a total trip. The name of the book isn’t the same as the movie and im sorry for that. I actually found this movie on accident and both of my children loved watching it too surprisingly. It’s rated G for general. Nothing graphic but it deals with emotions really well!
