Wondering what tools everyone is using to augment their book-finding process and what drawbacks/limitations are associated with them. I’m using a book filter I’ve made to help with this but curious to see what avenues are most helpful to others.
What’s your most proven and tested method of finding “good” books?

For me it’s a leap of faith. No algorithms, no booktubers or similar. Just back to basics: go to book shop/ library, talk with people in charge (sometimes) and hope for the best. It works 90% of the time for me 😂.
I get a lot of suggestions from various book subreddits. Also suggestions from Amazon, Kindle, Audible, LibraryThing, etc. Avoid booktube and booktok.
I read a ton ABOUT books. I’m always checking out the articles on Goodreads about what’s new and upcoming, articles in the NYT (reviews and articles about what’s new and upcoming), various subreddits (52book, IReadaBookandAdoredIt), and I follow authors I love on social media and check out theor recommendations.
It took me a long time to get into this groove but I’ve really got it figured out now and rarely read shitty books.
