Book than can relate to Biology

So for my college biology assignment we have to read a book and write papers on what it has to do with biology.

But the issue is I’d like to read a book I’m actually interested in. The previous semester I chose brave new world, which was a great read and easy to connect to biology. This semester I was hoping to do Frankenstein but I realized it doesn’t have a lot to do with biology. I’m not that big of a reader but I’m a big fan of gothic literature or “darker” philosophical books. I can’t go wrong with a good mystery either.
