I’m by no means mathematically gifted and I have zero ambitions of pursuing anything math related so advanced/beginner textbooks etc aren’t use to me. But I am super interested in the origins of math, how math works, and what type of maths is used commonly in the world around us etc. But for a non-technical mind. Are there any books you recommend?

Not purely math, but I think Brian Greene’s books about modern physics are some of the best translations of inscrutable math and physics concepts into something approachable.
