Hey y’all… so I have always said that Romance was my favorite genre of books. Moreover, that I would never enjoy a book if it wasn’t romance. To be honest I have only had 2 romance books that I was able to 100% complete. *The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo* and *Paper Towns*. Well, for my english course we had to read a memoir – *Stay True -* by Hua Hsu, and I expected to not like it. To my surprise… it’s an amazing book. I haven’t completed it yet, but I am 70% done.

Now, I’m not sure exactly what type of books to look for so I would like any recommendations of books that aren’t horrifically long, that I would be so into it would make me choose the book over watching TV. Any genre is fine, just stay away from fantasy!

    Books I have read/enjoyed:

*The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo -* Taylor Jenkins Reid

    *Paper Towns* \- John Green

    *Stay True* \- Hua Hsu

    1. I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jenette McCurdy (Sam from iCarly) is a very popular book that came out last year. It’s short, entertaining, and a memoir like Stay True.

If you liked Paper Towns, you might like John Green’s other books. I liked The Fault In Our Stars and The Anthropocene Reviewed (book of essays, very good!)

    2. You may like The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. It’s similar in some ways to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

    3. If you liked Taylor Jenkins Reid, I recommend reading some of her other books. I really liked *Carrie Soto*, but if you’re more into romance then *One True Loves* might fit the bill. Try books by Colleen Hoover or Emily Henry (to be honest I have not read either, but many people who enjoy *Seven Husbands* and *Paper Towns* like them!).

I really liked *What Alice Forgot* by Liane Moriarty. Not 100% a romance, but there are romantic elements.

If you’re willing to try something more like a mystery, Rachel Hawkins’ *The Heiress* comes out in January and it’s very similar to *Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo*.

    4. Awake-but-Dreaming on

Just finished One for my Enemy by Olivie Blake, it’s a modern re-telling of Romeo and Juliet with a fantasy twist. You might like that, it’s got plot and romance and her writing in this book was some of her best.
