All the books that I read were fantasy books. LOTR, Eragon, Harry Potter, Cats Warriors. Right now I am looking for a fun book to read medium size(not that long but not that short) with a decent story. Recommend some. It can be non fiction too though

Sea of Rust by C Robert Cargill – about AI robots in a post apocalyptic world after they killed off all humans. Has a good prequel too that covers the start of the robot uprising.
True Grit – a classic Western tale with a bad ass heroine looking to avenge her father’s death.
My wife once had me read Apathy and Other Small Victories. It was a pretty good one. Funny.
Percy Jackson?
* ***Guards! Guards!*** **(1989) by Terry Pratchett** – The eighth Discworld novel, featuring the City Watch and their humorous adventures in the fantasy city of Ankh-Morpork. Pratchett is amazing to experience. This isn’t the first book in the series but a great entrance into the worldbuilding anyhow. There are several great places to start different people will recommend, including of course #1.
* ***Little Brother*** **(2008, Science Fiction) by Cory Doctorow** – A science fiction novel that explores themes of surveillance, civil liberties, and the impact of technology on society, set in a near-future San Francisco. Learn some stuff about technology and civil rights along the way! 1st in a series. I have not finished reading the 2nd book yet.
* ***Player of Games*** **(1988, Science Fiction) by Iain M. Banks** – The second novel in the Culture series, a science fiction tale of a master gamer who is chosen to play a game with potentially deadly consequences. Like Casino Royale meets Heavy Metal.
