Something under 400 pages, mystery, romance or even scifi, all good, as long as it’s either fantasy or historical fiction. Just nothing too bleak. It’s okay if it’s part of a series, or a standalone book. I’m not sure how well known this series is, but last year I read “What the Lady’s Maid Knew” and the following two books of the series, and I loved it! It was suggested to me on KU, described as Downton Abby meets Harry Potter, and I’d love to find something with a similar vibe. It doesn’t have to be the most epic thing ever (this series totally wasn’t) just something easy to read that takes you to a different place.
Thanks!

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
This just sounds like the 39 Clues. In terms of some historical fiction as well as some adventure.

Celia Lake – they’re cozy fantasy set in alternate world 1900s-1940s Great Britain. Lots of caring characters, characters are usually involved in a conflict at a low level and the greater resolution is typically someone else’s problem.
