Revenge stories based on misunderstandings.

I’m really interested in finding a revenge story based on misinterpretation of events, where the ‘antagonist’ had nothing to do with what spurred the protagonist to go on a revenge quest, or may not even know something happened at all.

Alternatively, the antagonist could be the one seeking revenge, or honestly just any good revenge story will do.

I’m quite fond of action, I generally prefer sci-fi and westerns, bonus points if it’s both , as well as recent past settings.

No shakespeare, would prefer non YA novels, prefer no romance /sex if possible.
