I am a slow reader to begin with, but I am feeling inspired to tackle a longer book (500+ pages). I am notorious for only completing 1 out of probably every 4 books I pick up, and I am working on strengthening my attention span, so it really needs to engage me in a natural way and shouldn’t be overly complex. Looking for medium to fast paced books, either fiction or nonfiction, that will rivet me from open to close. Anything fit this bill?

The Stand by Stephen King. 1000 pages and you’ll wish it was longer.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Seveneves by Neal Stephenson
Middlegame by Seanan McGuire
Seconding the Stand, and I’m reading Demon Copperhead right now which is long but definitely holds you.
*Noble House* – James Clavell.
It’s part of his Asian Saga series, but it also works as a stand-alone novel. It’s huge, it’s action-packed, it’s fast-paced — the events of the book take place over a seven-day period. Highly recommend.
Something a little different from the other books suggested: The Once And Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow. I loved it!
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels. over forty books and not a dull moment.
pillars of the earth by ken follett…historical fiction, moves fast, over a thousand pages, five books in the series…..i am on book 3 now, and have four waiting , looking for a used copy of # 5 ( the books are too heavy for my old hands so i took a razor to them and cut them into quarters )…
A Prayer for Owen Meany
Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
Theft of Fire, by Devon Eriksen, clocks in at just a hair under 500 pages. In print, I believe it’s 497. Very fast pace book, that makes you keep on wanting to turn the page.
