Well this is embarrassing but I’ll just come out and say it. I never “grew” or “developed” skills/maturity (or emotional growth) when it comes to romantic relationships or women in general.

Can anyone recommend a book(s) that will help me with the above? Whether it is practical or just gives me a different perspective, either is fine.

    Thanks!

It’s refreshing! what kind of books do you like to read in general and/or what movies do you like? I don’t have any practical self-help type recommendations, but my suggestion is to look at the childhood books that the women your age grew up with and start there. so… “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret” from the 1970s or “The Fault in Our Stars” from 2014. Children/Teenage books are where the life dreams and ideas of romance start. Good luck to you.

Wishing you good luck on this journey! I’m reminded This is how you lose her by Junot Diaz. I finished this book fast, because of his casual storytelling flow. And as someone who read it in her 20s, getting into the dating scene, I hated the main character for the things he did. It doesn’t leave me empathizing or identifying with him, but it did give me some interesting perspectives about this subject.
