Last book I read was Alias Grace and I really found it compelling. It’s I guess historical fiction. Based on a real murder case but liberties taken to make it a fictional account.

Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
Edit: it’s about the 1996 Everest expedition that went horribly wrong.

Lonesome Dove is really, really good. It’s an Epic, like an American mythology version of The Hobbit or The Odyssey, disguised as a western, with the most-well written cast of characters of any novel. I can’t recommend it enough.

*Dreamland* by Sam Quinones is a must read for all adults especially if you want a greater understanding of the origins of the opioid crisis. I think this is especially important to read given everything going on. The chapters are very short and draws from multiple different perspectives- from drug reps, to families affected by the crisis, to former PWUD, public health professionals, and traffickers.
Another one is *Overdose* by Benjamin Perrin, although this one is more focused within the Canadian context of the crisis, and focuses more on the contemporary context of the crisis with the rise in fentanyl and possible solutions to the crisis.

The Name of the Rose, by Umberto Eco. That lad has talent.

The Hot Zone by Richard Preston.
Here is the blurb: A highly infectious, deadly virus from the central African rain forest suddenly appears in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. There is no cure.
Note: This book is 100% true. I was terrified reading it. Couldn’t put it down.
