One of my friends (Mandarin first language) at university has come to me for some help finding books to help stretch herself a little. The problem is that she doesn’t really read much even in Mandarin so I don’t have any literature preferences to go off of.
To get an idea I asked what media she likes to consume and she indicated films and TV shows usually based around family, relationships specifically mentioning the film ‘Titanic’. Unfortunately, I am an avid reader of sci-fi and fiction so am a little bereft of ideas. Does anyone have any recommendations they think might be suitable? Preferably a real page turner to get her invested early.
