Martha Wells’ *Murderbot Diaries* is a series of sci-fi novellas.
* Former military cyborg hires out as security to humans at the edge of the galaxy
* Action-packed
* Fast-paced
* Minimal world-building
* Dry (self-effacing) humor

If you like hard sci-fi and a mix of philosophy, I always recommend the Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson.
I’m not even a real hard sci-fi fan (but love philosophy) and find myself thinking about this series often post read, I liked it very much

JK Rowling’s *Comoran Strike’s* murder mystery series.
*The Magicians* is kind of like a combination of Harry Potter and Narnia, but for adults.
